  I’m a 30-something, white male and I’ve been coming here for about 3.5 years. 1. As others have mentioned, check expiration dates. Especially the bread which I’ve had at least 11 times bought home only to see mold on it a day later even though the expiration date isn’t for several more days. (Today, this just happened again so I’ve had it, I'm going to be looking elsewhere now.) 2. Never buy anything the staff has touched or prepared by hand, mainly the deli meat and salads. I spent 9 months with random food poisoning because of the ‘Black Forest Ham’ and ‘Tandoori Chicken’ from the deli counter. It took that long of cutting things out of my diet to narrow down why I was having random and extraordinary intestinal pains, horrible diarrhea, full body sweats and several blackouts resulting in falls off of the toilet. Once I cut out the deli meat, I never had a problem since and it’s been over a year now. I’ve had pre-made salads cause me to throw up after 40mins from eating it. If you don’t believe me, go to Youtube and lookup “CBC Marketplace Best Before Dates”, they specifically talk about the Loblaw’s company in general. It comes all the way from the top branch telling low-level staff how to tamper with the dates on meat products, from re-blooding old meat and seasoning it to hide the rotten smells to grinding up old meat with new meat. 3. When going through the checkout, try to pick a male cashier or any more mature female cashier (35+ years old). The younger female cashiers have the worst attitudes and no customer service. I’ve filled out numerous surveys (on the bottom of the receipts) and complained to the managers about this and it is still a problem. They treat you like you’re a pest, they don’t even say ‘Hello’ back to you and they throw your groceries around causing you bread to be smushed and potato chips to be crushed. I will purposely wait in a longer line to avoid the younger female cashiers but sadly, this store seems to mainly hire young female cashiers. (I support Canadian jobs and refuse to use self-checkout machines.) I hope these tips are helpful for you and prevent you from suffering from food poisoning like I have.
